Kilskyre/Moylagh v Trim Group B I.H.C. Sunday 28.8.22 at Athboy
Final Score: Kilskyre/Moylagh 5.18 Trim 2.11
Kilskyre/Moylagh booked their place in the knockout stages of this year’s Intermediate Hurling Championship with a convincing win over Trim in this Group B game played in Athboy on Sunday afternoon. The winners signalled their intent in the early minutes and boosted by a 2nd minute Willie McGrath goal they led 1.3 to 0.1 after 8 minutes. Trim got back into the match with a 10th minute goal but Daire Shine netted in the 15th minute to give Kilskyre/Moylagh a significant boost. Trim remained in contention for the following 10 minutes through 5 frees from their full forward. Kilskyre/Moylagh proceeded to hit 6 points in the final 6 minutes of the half through Tom Shine (3) Sean Geraghty (2) and a long-range effort from Sean Tunney to give them a deserved 2.13 to 1.6 lead at the interval.
The second half lacked the intensity of the first half with the sides exchanging goals in the first 4 minutes. Tom Shine netted for the winners and Trim responded with a goal immediately when they netted following a shot being stopped and the defence failing to clear.
