Aims and Objectives of Kilskyre Hurling Club

 

The main aims and objectives of the club is to:

  • promote the value of community activities and worth of all participants, GAA members or not;
  • foster and promote GAA sporting activities at all levels;
  • encourage participation in GAA, social and community activities from all parts of society, from all backgrounds and ages regardless of affiliation with the club;
  • provide the community with opportunities for recreation and competition;
  • develop programmes and activities that address social, cultural, recreational and health needs of the community;
  • create a space for the personal development of individuals and for the expansion of local community groups;
  • provide opportunities for all people in our community to engage in activities that promote both mental and physical health;
  • expand Kilskyre hurling club’s position at the heart of inclusive community activities by providing health, wellbeing and educational opportunities, including access to the necessary facilities, to the wider community in response to its needs and requirements;
  • work with individuals, community organisations and stakeholders to establish strong partnerships in order to provide a platform from which to develop and deliver worthwhile and beneficial healthy programmes and educational opportunities, within the community;
  • develop and implement new and forward-thinking projects and initiatives which are responsive to community needs;
  • help organisations develop and maximise the participation of their members through the use of our community facilities;
  • promote social responsibility and give support to those in need so that they have respect for their community and are encouraged to make a positive contribution to society; and
  • promote strong membership of the community rooms and multi-purpose fitness hall so that it is as representative of the local community as possible.
