A Kilskyre/Moylagh side short a number of their more experienced players ground out a hard earned second win in this Division 3 Hurling League match at Kilmessan on Saturday.
The first half was a nip and tuck affair with points being exchanged until the hosts goaled in the 26th minute to take the lead for the second time in the half. Kilmessan led 1.6 to 0.6 at the interval although the visitors were convinced they had 0.7 on the board at the break but the referee stated otherwise.
Kilskyre/Moylagh got a great start to the second half when Oisin McDermott netted in the 3rd minute following a great move. A further goal from Willie McGrath in the 10th minute of the half put the visitors back in front and helped by a number of substitutions and dogged defending they managed despite the best efforts of their hosts to hold on for victory.
Best for Kilskyre/Moylagh were Paddy Briody, Benji Smith, Kevin Foley, Ronan Cunning and the ever-accurate Willie McGrath.
