Final Score:  Kilskyre/Moylagh 1.07  Kildalkey 1.19

A Kilskyre/Moylagh outfit short ten of the panel from their win over Kilmessan 2 weeks earlier and with only 16 fit players available suffered a 12-point defeat to a sharper Kildalkey outfit in this Division 3 Hurling League match played on Kildalkey’s well-presented second pitch on Sunday morning.

The first half was a keenly contested affair with the visitors opening up a 3-point lead 0.4 to 0.1 by the 11th minute.  However, the hosts after a number of wides found their range and scored 6 unanswered points to lead 0.7 to 0.4 at the interval.

Kilskyre/Moylagh started the 2nd half in determined fashion and reduced the deficit to a single point after 3 minutes with 2 Willie McGrath points.  However, the hosts then took control and backboned by a number of players with Senior Championship experience and many players regularly turning out with their Division 1 team went on to win convincingly.  Their goal came in the 16th minute of the half following an excellent pitch length move.  The visitors however never gave up and despite tiring as the game wore on were rewarded when Matthew Farrelly goaled with 4 minutes remaining.

Best for Kilskyre/Moylagh were Jack Connell, Benji Smith, Michael Geraghty, Kevin Foley, Peadar Byrne and Willie McGrath.
