Final Score:  Kilskyre/Moylagh 2.06 Rathmolyon 1.16

A well prepared and sharper Rathmolyon team proved too strong for a gutsy Kilskyre/Moylagh outfit in this Division 3 Hurling League match played in glorious sunshine at Moylagh on Sunday morning.

The first half was a one-sided affair with the wind assisted visitors opening up a 9-point lead in the first 20 minutes before Tom Shine opened the host’s account with a well taken point.  Rathmolyon added 4 further points with Shine pointing from a free on 30 minutes to leave the visitors 0.13 to 0.2 ahead at the interval.

Kilskyre/Moylagh started the 2nd half well with a Shine point but were then rocked back in the 4th minute by a Rathmolyon goal after a breakaway move.  They kept plugging away however and were rewarded with goals from Jamie Casserly and Ronan McGuiness in the 12th and 19th minutes respectively.    The visitors though always seemed to be in control and went on to run out convincing winners with both sides using the opportunity to give a number of substitutes some valuable game time.

Best for Kilskyre/Moylagh were James O’Higgins. Podge Muldoon, Jimmy Boyle and Tom Shine.
