Final Score:  Kilskyre/Moylagh 1.6  Kildalkey 1.16

An understrength Kilskyre/Moylagh side went down to a 10-point defeat to a sharper and more experienced Kildalkey outfit in this Division 3 Hurling League match played in Kildalkey on a sunny but cool Thursday evening.

The first half was a keenly contested affair until the hosts who were playing with the aid of a stiff breeze scored 5 points in a row between the 15th and 24th minutes.  Kildalkey led 0.9 to 0.3 at the break with Willie McGrath from frees accounting for the Kilskyre/Moylagh scores.  The visitors had chances in the first half but some wayward shooting let them down.

Kilskyre/Moylagh started the 2nd half in determined fashion and a McGrath effort for goal came off the post on the restart and was scrambled out for a 65 which the same player pointed.  However, the hosts again took control and with the aid of an excellent 9th minute goal went on to run out easy victors.  Kilskyre/Moylagh tried hard to stay in touch but a couple of goal efforts were foiled and despite a late 1.1 from substitute Niall Farrelly they never got close to their hosts.
